Each one of my displays are unique and contain naturally found pieces from my exploration that have been ethically collected from unprotected public lands. I also incorporate found, upcycled, and thrifted items along with minerals and fossils from locally owned shops.
Here’s the story behind this hornet and wasp hand painted display:
• One Giant European Hornet found naturally deceased outside of Hot Springs, NC in 2024.
• One Yellow Jacket Wasp found naturally deceased outside of a gym in Donelson, TN in 2024.
• Preserved roses, lichen, daisies, English lavender, and viola from my backyard garden in Hermitage, TN.
• The frame and the wool background were thrifted from my local craft reuse shop in Nashville, TN. The paper accents are from a vintage book of Victorian dollhouse wallpaper, gifted by a friend. This frame measures approximately 8"x6" and is just a bit over 1" deep.
Each display arrives carefully packaged, signed on the reverse, and includes a print out with all of the information for the items used to create the scene and care instructions.
